Concordia University Chicago (CUC) seeks applications for the full-time position of Visiting Professor (Assistant or Associate depending on qualifications) in the College of Business (COB). This position is located on campus in River Forest, IL and reports to the Dean and Associate Dean of the College.


This position is expected to maintain regular office hours and will be assigned an undergraduate advising load and a full teaching load.

The College of Business (COB) offers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral (DBA) programs in business. The ideal candidate should be qualified to teach at any of these levels, as well as serve on dissertation committees. It is expected that the successful candidate will have an academic degree and experience teaching in one of the disciplines offered within the College. Candidates with an academic background in sports management, human resources, health care management, or business analytics will have a competitive edge. See for more information on the COB.

Skill Sets:

The COB is seeking an energetic, entrepreneurial, and positive contributor. Candidates should have strong teaching skills, demonstrate initiative to be part of a community of practice, and possess the ability and experience to work with traditional students, working professionals, and international students. The successful candidate will work well in a collaborative environment, be student-centered, ethical, and will demonstrate a commitment to the mission of the University.  The candidate will understand and use the business applications of technology and social media. Online teaching experience and course development experience is expected. Experience serving on dissertation committees is a plus.

Minimum Experience Required:

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of teaching experience in higher education in their field of study. They must also have relevant work experience in their field of specialization that can translate into real world experiences for students and meet the criteria of both the HLC and ACBSP for highly qualified faculty. Domestic and international travel when needed may be required. Must have a valid passport or ability to acquire one.

Education Requirements

The candidate must have an earned doctorate in business administration (DBA), or a PhD in business or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution or foreign equivalent. ABD will not be considered.

Compensation and Benefits:

Starting range and Academic Rank are dependent upon individual qualifications and experience. Concordia health, disability and retirement plan enrollment is available to full-time employees and their eligible dependents. Tuition benefits are also available for employees and their qualified dependents.
