Concordia University Chicago (CUC) invites applications for the part-time (29 hours per week) position of Administrative Assistant to the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS). This position will support the College's leadership, faculty, staff, and students. As an Administrative Assistant, this staff member must be able to work harmoniously with others at multiple levels of the organization. This position is located in River Forest, IL and reports to the CAS Coordinator.

Responsibilities/Duties: 

  • Conveys a warm and welcoming professional environment for students, faculty, staff, administrators, and other visitors to CAS
  • Ability to use Concordia's various technological resources efficiently and effectively: Blackboard, Banner, CUC room scheduling software, CUC Sodexo software, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook
  • Manages the office smoothly; coordinating calendars, processing and tracking paperwork, keeping office records organized and up to date, and other routine office tasks
  • Maintains the office area, including office equipment, office supplies, and general office cleanliness
  • Other related tasks as assigned or discovered

Skill Sets:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple constituencies
  • Excellent typing skills, including the ability to type and copy/edit large and small documents
  • Ability to systematically file materials in both hard and/or electronic copy accurately and efficiently
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Willingness to take initiative, search for greater efficiencies, and offer creative ways to innovate
  • Ability to complete tasks quickly and accurately

Minimum Experience Required:

Two years in an office support role

Education Requirements:

High school/GED required; Bachelor's Degree preferred

Compensation and Benefits:

Starting range is dependent upon individual qualifications and experience. Concordia disability and retirement plan enrollment is available to part-time employees. Tuition benefits may also be available.
