Concordia University Chicago (CUC) invites applications for the full-time, exempt position of Technical Services Specialist. The Technical Services Specialist is responsible for providing technical support for all University faculty, staff, and students in person and remotely via email and/or telephone. This position is located in River Forest, IL and reports to the Director of IT Infrastructure.


Duties include the administration and upkeep of the University's desktop and laptop fleets including both Microsoft and Apple based computers. The position will be expected to work closely with the other IT teams including the Infrastructure and Applications teams in the development and deployment of University IT services and technologies.

  • Knowledge of University's mission, goals and purpose, and the position's role in achieving them


  • Various programming skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with multiple managers
  • Experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2012+
  • Experience with JAMF/Casper Suite

 Minimum Experience Required:

  • Experience with applications to manage deployment and security of devices and applications across an enterprise network
  • Demonstrated helpdesk/client support
  • Excellent communication skills and collaborative team mindset
  • Substantial computer hardware expertise
  • Substantial PC software expertise (Office, Windows OS, e-mail, networking)
  • Substantial Mac OS software expertise
  • 1 year experience administering Windows workstations in an enterprise environment
  • 1 year experience administering workstations in lab environments

Education Requirements: 

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems required; CCNA, MCITP preferred

Compensation and Benefits:

Starting range is dependent upon individual qualifications and experience. Concordia health, disability and retirement plan enrollment is available to full-time employees and their eligible dependents. Tuition benefits are also available for employees and their qualified dependents.
