Concordia University, Chicago, IL, seeks candidates for a tenure track faculty position:  Coordinator of Middle Grades Education Program. The initial appointment is a two-year renewable term. The Coordinator is responsible to the Dean of the College of Education in matters pertaining to faculty, curriculum, and administration of the Middle Grades program.

Responsibilities/Duties:  Specifically, the Coordinator is responsible for assigning full-time and adjunct faculty to teach courses, supervising instruction, and monitoring curriculum and assessments. Duties include attending Coordinator meetings, assessing effectiveness of instruction, working with the Dean to complete program reports for the State and Accreditation bodies, hiring adjunct faculty, and for providing vision and leadership for curriculum supervision and development for the various content areas within the program. This position includes an instructional assignment of 18 credit hours an academic year.

 

Minimum Experience Required: A record of administrative involvement in P-20 settings, experience in teaching and/or educational administration and commitment to Lutheran education and values congruent with The Lutheran Church'Missouri Synod. The search process will continue until a suitable candidate is identified.

 

Education Requirements: The successful candidate will have an earned doctorate in middle grades education or curriculum and instruction and hold a teaching credential. Preference given to candidates with experience in leadership.
