The College of Business at Concordia University Chicago invites applications for the tenure-track position of Associate Professor of Business Administration. This is a full-time, campus-based position. The associate professor will be expected to maintain regular office hours, an advising load, contribute to scholarship, and serve on University and College committees, as well as serve on doctoral dissertations.  The College of Business offers bachelor's degrees, master's degrees (MA & MBA), and a doctoral program in business (DBA). The associate professor will carry a teaching load, which could include international travel, and they should be qualified to teach at any of these levels. It is expected that as part of his or her duties, the associate professor will demonstrate leadership by engaging in ACBSP and assessment initiatives. There may be opportunities for administrative role.

Candidates should have strong leadership skills, initiative, and the ability and experience to work with young adults, working professionals, and international students. The successful candidate will work well in a collaborative environment, be student-centered, ethical, and will demonstrate a commitment to the mission of the University and the College.  The candidate will understand and know how to use the business and teaching applications of technology and social media. Online teaching experience and course development expected. Higher education administrative experience, and experience working with a highly diverse and international student body are pluses. It is expected that candidate will have an academic background in one of the undergraduate majors or graduate programs offered within the college, i.e. management, sports management, data analytics. Experience serving on dissertation committees expected.


Minimum Experience Required:

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of undergraduate and graduate teaching experience in higher education in their field of study. They must also have relevant work experience in their field of specialization that can translate into real world experiences for students and meet the criteria of both the HLC and ACBSP for highly qualified faculty. They must have the ability and desire to engage in administrative work, and domestic and international travel when needed.  Must have a valid passport.


Education Requirements

The candidate must have an earned doctorate in business administration or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution or foreign equivalent, i.e. DBA/PhD. ABD will not be considered.
