Dean Support (Primary Role): Manage Deans' schedules using MS Outlook; Initiate low GPA letters for; Document preparation/printing as requested by Deans

Administrative/College/Office Support: Manage office communications; Meeting management; Manage/process/create department paperwork; Facilitate faculty credential form and CV collection; Organize COB syllabi collection and storage; Assist in presentation/document preparation, editing, and proofreading; Represent the College of Business in a positive, professional manner to students, faculty, internal offices and outside contacts. Dress appropriately in business casual attire, for the position; Manage/maintain contact databases; Tracks COB prospectus/course design and maintains appropriate databases; Be able to represent the college at sponsored events or meetings on and off campus; Submit work order requests; Maintain the esthetics of the physical presence of the College of Business; Manage/order inventory of office supplies/business cards/name badges/paper/etc. for COB Faculty and Staff

Faculty Support: Assist in PowerPoint presentation preparation, editing and proofreading; Provide support to adjunct faculty: order desk copies, reserve equipment, make copies, etc.; Document collection and distribution.

Student Support: Serves as first line student advisor (UG, Graduate) in conjunction with COB faculty; advises/resolves student and logistical issues; facilitate undergraduate grade appeal process; Facilitate grade changes, directed studies, independent studies, CPT/OPT forms; Provide appropriate support to the college deans, faculty, and staff overall and assist with any other projects/tasks as assigned or needed


Skill Sets:

  • Proficient in MS Office including PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Be able to handle multiple projects concurrently. Have the ability to schedule and prioritize work to get things done on time in a quality manner.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision. Must be reliable and punctual.
  • Ability to learn quickly, work effectively under pressure, and adapt to a changing environment.
  • Typing at an intermediate level. Ability to take and transcribe minutes.
  • Strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Maintain confidentiality. Ability to exercise tact and discretion when handling sensitive and/or confidential matters.
  • Strong administrative skills.
  • Enthusiastic supporter of Lutheran higher education and Concordia University Chicago.


Minimum Experience Required: Minimum five years' experience as an administrative assistant, executive assistant, or office coordinator preferred.


Education Requirements: High School/GED Required, Bachelor's Degree Preferred
